Rashes and Skin Conditions

Skin rashes can occur from a variety of factors, including infections, heat, allergens, immune system disorders and medications. Common rashes include eczema, poison ivy, hives, and athlete’s foot. Infections that cause rashes may be fungal, bacterial, parasitic, or viral. There are over-the-counter products that may help treat many skin rashes. Rashes lasting more than a few days that are unexplained should be evaluated by a doctor.
